Skip's Best Barbeque Sauce
This is a recipe for my "award winning" Western Barbeque Sauce. Award winning you say --that's right! I have won two barbeque cook-offs with this sauce.
There are some great barbeque sauces on the market, but you will always do better with your own home-made sauce --especially if you use fresh spices. No matter how good, all store bought sauces have chemicals and preservatives in them that add nothing to the taste.
This recipe will get you two cups. Just double up on the ingredients to make more. Here we go:
Group 1
1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 Teaspoon Mace
1/4 Teaspoon Allspice
1/2 Teaspoons Cracked Black pepper
1/2 Teaspoon Curry powder
1/2 Teaspoon Chili powder
1/2 Teaspoon Paprika
Group 2
1/4 Cup White vinegar
1/2 Teaspoon Hot pepper sauce
1 Cup Ketchup
1/3 Cup Dark molasses
First combine all of the ingredients in Group 1 into a bowl. Now slowly stir in the vinegar. Now add the rest of the ingredients from Group 2 and stir.
Pour the whole thing into a saucepan and heat on very low. As soon as it begins to simmer --turn off the heat and stir well. It's done !!!
You can serve this sauce hot or cold.
