The Advantages of a Solid Steel Outdoor Patio Fire Pit
A steel fire pit has many advantages over the simple hole in the ground. First of all when you build a fire in the ground most of the heat goes up and not out --robbing you of the heat. You have to sit closer to stay warm and then you get smoke in your face and run the risk of embers burning your clothes.
Our fire pits have decorative cutouts in the side that actually serve a dual purpose. They vent the fire causing it to send the smoke up instead of out and yet the heat radiates through the vents keeping you warm.
You don't have to worry about sparks because the fine mesh top traps all but the tiniest embers and they go out within a second or so of hitting the air.
I have sat close to our fire pit on many occassions, often cooking on it and have never been burned by an ember or a spark.
